The Grand Prix League 2009
In no way associated with the short-lived competition of a similar name run by McLaren F1 (five seasons, pah!) and is no way connected to or endorsed by the FIA, FOA, FOTA or any other such acronymical organisation or company!

During the extended break prior to the German GP on 12th July, we are in for three weeks of intensive politicking as the future of Formula 1 is hopefully thrashed-out once and for all.  Meanwhile, the majority of the teams make an pleasently short truck ride home, all the better to resume their development work for the summer push.

In our humble competition, just under half of the 38 teams have made their last scheduled pit stops and the League Table is perhaps just starting to become a little clearer...

If you know your history...
The Grand Prix League started in 1996 comprising just a handful of work colleagues.  Borrowing ideas from a fantasy game in the Sunday Times it has remained largely unaltered throughout its twelve seasons. Despite moving-on to pastures new, the League continued as I introduced 'Ace Drivers' to make selection more considered and Pit Stops to allow players to swap drivers mid-season.  It remains a social competition amongst colleagues, family and invited friends of both.
