The Grand Prix League started in 1996 comprising just a handful of work colleagues. It was based on an idea from a fantasy game in the Sunday Times, only we were a bit slow off the line and missed the first race! I was soon tinkering with it although the premise has remained largely unaltered throughout its fourteen seasons. I was very glad to leave behind the old paper system as popularity grew and develop increasingly complex spreadsheets and then a website. Despite moving-on to pastures new, the League continued as I introduced 'Ace Drivers' to make selection more considered and Pit Stops to allow players to swap drivers mid-season. Now with a new Pit Stop System for 2010, it remains a social competition amongst colleagues, family and invited friends of both.
