The Grand Prix League started in 1996 comprising just a handful of work colleagues. It was based on an idea from a fantasy game in the Sunday Times, only we were a bit slow off the line and missed the first race! Although the premise has remained largely unaltered since then, I was soon tinkering around the edges; 'Ace Drivers' were introduced to make selection more considered then Pit Stops to allow players to swap drivers mid-season. I was very glad to leave behind the old paper system as popularity grew  which has lead to increasingly complex spreadsheets and then finally a website. At the end of 2008 I was very close to pulling the plug,  so disillusioned was I with Formula 1. But I'm glad I didn't. Now with an overhauled Pit Stop System introduced for 2010, it's an enduring social competition amongst colleagues, family and invited friends of both.
